Andreas Scholl and Pascal Heiler founded Kritzelkratz 3000 in 1996 while still studying. Together with Michael Müller, they still run the company today. Müller and Heiler studied communication design, Scholl computer science. They got to know each other through their interest in game development and made their first experiences together. "At that time we were looking for a publisher for a game we wanted to develop. It was a role-playing game in the style of Secret of Mana, for example, enriched with educational content - in other words, an edutainment game that we called Felix and the Revenge of Zero. Sunflowers (known for the Anno series) became our publisher - but we first had to set up a proper legal form in order to sign the contract. That was the official start of our company 28 years ago," says Heiler.
